Red Deer Quilt Show

This weekend is the Central Alberta Quilt Guild's annual spring quilt show and vendor's fair.  It's a nice drive (when it's not snowing) and it is on this end of the city, so it's easy to get to.  Unfortunately, there were no cameras allowed (as is often the case at a quilt show), so I can't show you any pictures of the wonderful creations there, but I can show you my amazing find!

I'm telling you, Jo Morton's name is in the air these days!  Not only did I get to join JLWC #10 this year, and find one of her first publications at a LQS, BUT I happened upon a Jo Morton publication jackpot at the quilt show!  That's right!  It think this is almost every book published by Jo privately before hooking up with her current national publisher!  And, they were all in the sale bin!  I think I may have a giveaway this month and include one of them...  Stay tuned!

I also managed to find some darling pillowcase dresses (not shown), some fat quarters, and a couple of kits from a favourite quilt shop out of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan called The Quilt Patch (and yes, the town is really called Moose Jaw).  I was talking with my Mom on the phone while wandering some of the booths and happened to mention my wondrous find, to which she exclaimed, "You bought a set of them for me too, right?"  Needless to say, I had to go back to the "Jo Jackpot" booth and buy a second set of the books for her!

They'll be in the mail shortly Mom, just as soon as I dig myself out of the 10" of snow that fell overnight!  I am no April fool, but apparently Mother Nature thinks we all are with the weather we've been having!  Can you see the steps off our back deck to the patio below?  Hmmm, no worries, I can't either!  It was completely melted and clear on Friday, Chloe was in her glory.  Now the snow is deeper than she is tall...  Sorry pup, no outside run for you today!

Have a great day all!

You did hit the jackpot with the Jo books. I think many of them are out of print. The sky looks so beautiful behind the snow, so hope it melts quickly!
