Cut, cut, cut...

It seems that I am doing an aweful lot of cutting these days.  However, I have quite a few more quilt tops finished than I normally would without all this cutting, so I guess it's working out for the better!  I have started Berry Nice, one of the patterns from JLWC #10.  It took me a while to decide what fabrics to use, however, in the end I am quite happy with them.

I am going to change the layout to be only 2 rows of stars in order to accomodate the top of my trunk-being-used-as-a-coffee-table in the living room.  I think the colours will go nicely with the new furniture.  The stars will be the red (points), the goldenrod (star centers), and the light (background) and the rest of the quilt will be the dark green (setting triangles) and the patterned blue (center squares, border).

Well outside of my normal colour choices, but I've been trying to "step outside the box" when it comes to matching up colours and fabrics for new projects.  I usually choose blue, black, brown...  blue black...  black brown...  blue brown...  You get the idea.  I do beleive this quilt will be a far cry from blue, black, brown!

Step outside the box today in your own way!
