It was a productive weekend! Finally! Mr. Confessions was a sweetheart and took Little Miss out on Saturday and Sunday for some shopping and errands, so I had a peaceful house - AMAZING! It's a rare event, but I relish in every moment when it happens!
So, I rushed to my quilting room, hauled out the most urgent projects, and got to work. I am making a variation of a Jo Morton pattern and am enjoying piecing it together. The pattern is "Garden Party" from her book "Remembrances" and was originally done in reproduction fabrics. My version is a gift quilt for Liza over at Little Handfuls and she requested blue and white.
The fabrics work well together and things certainly flew through the machine! I use my courthouse steps as leaders and enders so I could work on both projects together.
The courthouse steps are so much fun! I keep fondling the first set I made and it encourages me to keep on going with the current set. It is rather heavy with all that thread and small pieces, I imagine it will be a warm one when it's finished!
Today I am taking apart my quilting room to re-arrange the furniture and get things a little more organized. Mr. Confessions bought me another Billy Bookcase with the extension from Ikea and now I am itching to get things straightened around. Might take a bit, it's been a while since I overhauled and purged in there!
And... It's not snowing today! Hooray!

The blue & white blocks really are quite lovely, I'm sure the receipient will love it immensely!!! Seeing your courthouse steps quilt in progress reminds me, I really will have to get the two borders on my log-cabin!!! I just don't know where the time goes LOL, I'm busy all the time, and still don't get stuff done, sheesh!!! BTW yours look wonderful, what's the bet you get your finished before me LOL!!!

Your snow stopped, and we got snow. Drat! But ours should start melting by the weekend with 60s predicted.
Your little courthouse steps blocks are sweet, and you're right about the weight with all the seams. My pineapple quilt was the same way. A lot of seams and pieces per block, and it quickly gained weight.
Lucky you! Free time to sew. Love the courthouse steps, am working steady on my mini log cabins. The Blue and White will be gorgeous.
Yay! for no snow. Glad you had a beautiful Easter Day.
Great way to get 2 quilts done.
