Preparations

Cut, cut, cut .....  Oh, and did I mention cut?  I know I am a saver of scraps, and it is certainly no secret.  However, when you have to make scraps, are they still scraps?

As a part of an extra project for Jo's Little Women Club we can make the gorgeous courthouse steps quilt Jo designed as the feature on the cover of the Dec.2010 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting from Better Homes & Gardens.  The magazine also includes an exclusive interview with Jo, photographs of her home and the room where she creates.

So, this week, along with collecting all the Jo Morton fabric strips from my 1" strips jar (which actually do classify as scraps), I have been weeding through bits and pieces of my Jo fabric from baskets and boxes to cut off 1" strips to add to the pile.  We are to make 16 blocks each month, eight that start with the light and eight that start with the dark.

As I said before...  Cut, cut, cut, and cut some more!  I have seen others making this quilt out in blogland, so I'm excited to add it to the project roster!

re-arrange, re-arrange, re-arrange..

fold, fold, fold....

What a great project to do with your Jo Club! I've been hanging on to a fq bundle of Compliments and think I'm going to cut for the free pattern up on Andover's site.
Just love my Jo!

Keep cutting.
