OK, so not really. The lovely part is true, certainly, but the Spring part is only partially true. You see, technically it IS spring according to the days on the calendar, however, looking out the window you would never know the calendar was anywhere near Spring!
I made a trip out of town today to visit with my good friend Kelly in her country home for tea. Little Miss likes to go and play with Kelly's little girl, so it was fun all-around. The drive, on the other hand, was not so fun. Thick fog everywhere with icy, snowy roads.
I will mark the calendar today as a foggy day and see if the farmer's tale is true - 90 days after fog comes rain. It was very foggy last "Spring" and we had a very rainy June, so this year I am putting this tale to the test!
The hoar-frost was gorgeous and like night and day on the weather side of the trees, bushes, and just about every other item outside. The predominant weather side is covered in white, while the backside is almost bare. I had to stop a number of times to take photos and Little Miss had to pipe up from her carseat in the back, "After this, THEN are we going to Kelly's?" Cheeky little thing she is!
Hopefully you are enjoying a balmy, REAL spring day (or fall day if you are from Down Under), and not this pretend business we have going on around here!

Heather, I know we're tired of Winter but your snow pictures are BEAUTIFUL. It's been cold here in New Jersey too....we need some baseball weather.
My father in law was a firm believer in the 90 day rain rule!! And he was a farmer...go figure!
I have to say Heather, that Autumn is really taking its time to get to us here too!!! Yesterday was a beautiful sunny 29C (mid 80's F), today was still warm but overcast. I still have the cotton doona on the bed, just waiting for it to get a little cooler and change it to the feather doona!!! Having said that... I wouldn't swap your snow for our sunshine in a pink fit!!! LOL! Maybe we may have to wait for 90 days as well! We should check in then and see what the weather has done!!!
The hoar frost is lovely, especially on the mailbox. Great photo! Stay warm, safe and I hope spring eventually works its way up to you.
It may not look like spring, but your photos are great.
Absolutely gorgeous photos! Thanks for sharing, though that's as close as I want to be to winter. Never heard the 90 day rule before - is it an Alberta thing?
Just to bug you - my crocuses are blooming and the early garden is in.Hee hee...
It looks like you may miss Spring this year! The snow is almost all gone here now, I put the snow shovel away for the second time. Hope I don't have to take it out again.
