I have to say, I am really loving this 30 minutes of bliss! I have accomplished many small projects and lots of tidy-up in each of my 30 minute sessions. Have you been making use of 30 minute segments in your day too?
So far I have completed the top for my Sticks and Stones quilt made out of 1" strips from my scraps jar. I had to dig a bit though to find the perfect border fabric.
I find that when a quilt is small with a very busy and scrappy main body, adding a busy border takes away from all the hard work you put into making the tiny pieces for the middle.
I also completed the top for one of Kathleen Tracy's patterns. This one is featured in her latest book, Civil War Sewing Circle, and is called "T is for Temperance". It took me forever to decide on what fabrics to use. I went through various stages of light and dark brown, brown with pink, brown with blue, blue with green, light and dark purple, purple and black... You get the idea.
Then I realized I was having so much trouble with it because I really like it just as it is shown in the book and I wasn't finding a suitable comparison. Thus, I made it in similar colours to match the original. The finished top looks great, and I am now trying to decide how to quilt it!
Hopefully I can continue to find more snippets of time over the month to get to more UFOs and accomplish some bigger projects too!

Lovely work Heather, your 30 minutes of bliss are really paying off!!! Both quilts are lovely but I love the one where you used all your scraps!!!
Great quilts! I think I may start a scrappy one with one inch strips like yours as well... hmm good idea I think! Also I noticed that you are displaying your quilts on your new furniture! The couches and chair look great by the way and I love the area rug with your wood box style coffee table! Enjoy your new space!
i must make myself a sticks and stones quilt~!~i so love the way yours looks . . . if i made it as big as i had scraps for it would cover half the country so maybe i'll do like you did and keep it doll sized~!~
those 30 minute chunks are really showing fabulous results~!!!!~

Hello Heather,
I started doing the 30 minutes a day to catch up in my ironing, so I have more room in my sewing room. It is working great! Can't wait to move the 30 minutes a day to small quilting projects. Just love your small quilts. You do such nice work.
