Furniture Heaven

We don't have a large house, but it's big enough for us.  We've had the same sofa for almost 10 years now, and it has been our lone piece of furniture for that long as well.  Needless to say, it's a little loved and worn.  We tried to slip-cover it, but that was a big waste.  Trying to get the cover to stay on, stay in one place, stay over the cushions, stay in any way, was a full-time job that I certainly did not have the time for.

So, two weeks ago, Mr. Confessions said, "Enough, we're going to get new furniture."  And so we did!  It was not a quick or easy process, but in the end we found something we both liked, and we didn't have to phone our lawyer!  We got an apartment sofa (never heard of one before this experience), a matching side chair, a recliner (which I lovingly refer to as the "Man Chair"), and a gorgeous area rug.

On Monday, Mr. Confessions had one of his employees give him a hand, and they picked it up at the warehouse to bring home.  I was so excited!  Forget cleaning up after dinner or getting Little Miss into a bath!  I wanted to play with arranging the furniture!

The recliner was from a different store than the other pieces, so it will be a little longer in getting here.  Until then we kept the old blue loveseat for extra seating.  Miss Chloe seems to like the new pieces too.  She was very prompt in letting us know by barking to be put on the sofa for a sniff since she is too small to jump that high.

Now all I have to do is get the TV out of there, add some new paint, hang a few pictures, and put some quilts on the ladder in the corner and it'll be perfect!  I am already dreaming of all the handwork that will be done while I sit in my new chair!
