What On Earth!?

This morning, after dozing for much longer than I should have, I got up and slowly began to entertain the idea of having a shower and starting my day.  I was still tired, the room was gloomy and dim, and the atmosphere was cold and dull.  What on earth was going on?  No sun this morning for sure, but not only that, it was even gloomier than no sun.

The blinds were still closed, so there was only my mind wandering and the peacefulness of a quiet morning when, by chance, my toddler was still asleep past 8am.  I bumbled my way across the bedroom to the bathroom door, glanced in the mirror at my bedhead (awful!) and then to the window.

NOOOOOOOOO!  NOT THAT!

Yes, that's right.  Snow.  All my gloomy questions had been answered.  It had to happen sooner or later, it would just have been nice to, for once, be later.  Like, after Halloween later.  Welcome winter, at least for today.  Maybe tomorrow will be sunny and warm once again.  Thankfully I had the forethought to pick the last of the fall flowers for some bouquets to adorn our Thanksgiving feast last weekend and I can still enjoy them while they last.

So long fall splendor, hello winter.  Time to bring out that flannel quilt I have been planning to make for the past 8 months!

Oh no! It is still 90 degrees here. Wish there was a happy medium. I want just a little of your cool and you would like a little of our warmth and sun. Good quilting weather, though!

Wow! And here I am sitting in shorts under the good ol' AC! Please send some of that coolness down my way!

That I don't want to see for awhile, lol.
I would love a nice long fall, not ready to be cooped up yet.

Oh ISH and ICK! I'm not ready to see THAT again! Last winter is still too horribly fresh in my memory. Better you having that on your lawn in October, than me. I can definitely wait a few more weeks.
