SEW Much Fun!

What a productive weekend!  For whatever reason, I somehow have contracted a "Get 'Er Done" bug.  In light of resent behaviours, this is quite the change for me, and I must say I am heartily enjoying it!

A favourite of mine, this pattern was designed by Shuna Talbot, and the squares are 1" square finished.

On the 2nd Wednesday of each month I get together with eight other lovely ladies for my quilty club which we endearingly call Tiny Treasures.  The nine of us have a soft spot for small quilts and have all, at one time or another, coveted patterns from Jo's Little Women Club, any one of Kathleen Tracy's books, the now out of print magazine "Miniature Quilts", and a myriad of other great resources.  Well, this year in order to give us some motivation to complete some of the patterns we receive each month from club, and any other projects (big or small) we have on the go, we have given ourselves an incentive.

I love the colours in this quilt.  The pattern is one from Kathleen Tracy's latest book "The Civil War Sewing Circle" called "T Is For Temperance"

 At the beginning of the Fall season we all contributed to a basket of quilting related goodies, and can continue to add to it at our leisure, as the big prize at the end of the club year.  Each time you complete a project you get your name in the jar for the draw.  Since I have already dubbed this year "Finish-it-First", I figured this theme goes hand-in-hand with the prize on club night!

I've been asked many times if this little darling was sewn with paper piecing...  Nope, the regular old piece-at-a-time way!  It is from one of  Jo Morton's "Jo's Little Women Club" pattern sets.  The 9-patch blocks are 1.5",finished and you can see some of my quilting lines drawn on in this photo.

And what did I accomplish this weekend to bring me a few steps closer to another ballot in the box?  I finished and prepped EIGHT small quilts for quilting!  WOWZA!  You've previewed a couple of them above already, so here are the rest of them in no particular order:

Last year Kathleen Tracy released this pattern to members of her Yahoo Group.  I love the colours.  The squares are 1" finished.

This was a mistake quilt.  Originally I was going to make a "wheat bag" (microwavable for heat on aches), but it was too cute and the pieces ended up being a quilt instead!

My first postage stamp quilt and I had a great time making it as "Leaders and Enders"!  All the squares are 1" finished.

I'm making this cute little bag as a gift for someone.  I have to work do the quilting before I can move on to the next step.

Another of my little quilts from Jo's Little Women Club already on the machine!  The 4-patch squares are 2" finished.  It was great fun to make this one - very quick!

There you have it!  I have all the thread picked out and the quilting design chosen, so now all I have to do is get 'er done!  I am already onto quilting my third one!  Hopefully I can keep it up and finish all the binding for them all too!
