Confessions seem to be a common thing here, and I have another for you... I am an organizer, but I hate housework. The cleaning part is for the birds, but the organizing is my forte!
Recently I decided that enough was enough around here and it was time to get organized on a grand scale. We have lived in our home for six years now and I have yet to see proper shelving in certain places, built-in storage in other places, and hidden extra spots for small things of no importance. None.
So, first things first. Pick the room. And the winner is... The laundry room! I promptly went in there, assessed the situation, decided on a plan, and informed Mr. Confessions that we needed to go to Home Depot right now or I would install the cupboards and storage myself. Needless to say, the keys were in his hand before I could finish my statement.
And now look at what I have! Hooray! All sorts of room and it is slowly being used up, filled up, and organized. However, there is still the other side of the room to consider. ACK! Now to empty that all out, stack the washer and dryer on top of each other, put in a counter and upper cupboard, and continue with the great purge going on in my house right now.
Back to filling my next garbage bag! Wish me luck!

I'm doing the 'fall cleaning/organizing' thing lately too! I've attacked my pantry and a few cupboards in my kitchen - next up is my crazy laundry room!
Its so wonderful to have things organized (although I'm never good at keeping it that way!)

My mother was of the generation where the housewives always did spring house cleaning and fall house cleaning -- in depth, thorough, from top to bottom. How ashamed she'd be if she knew how little I clean our house. Surface cleaning only, as little as possible, only when necessary. I prefer to spend my hours doing something I enjoy. Cleaning doesn't fit the category but quilting does.
Organizing, adding shelves, and simplifying makes a huge difference. You're making great progress!
I think I would keep my back to the washer & dryer & keep admiring the cupboards. Not quite sure how you do that & accomplish the task of washing clothes!
When you're done at your house, please come and spread some magic organising at my house!!!LOL
