I have been working away on these things for what seems like an eternity and have not posted for OFW in what seems like ages, so I am finally getting caught up with these pretty little petals!
I think there are a few missing from the pile, but the ones present were lucky enough to get their picture taken and show off a little bit for you!
I love how the 1930's reproductions have tiny characters that even my 1/2" hexagons can capture on a single petal. I am still trying to figure out what to do with them all. I met with Cindy yesterday for a Starbucks break/visit and she showed me a neat design layout that would be a great option for these little darlings.
What do you think? I could put a green hexagon in the spot that's missing one, sort of like a little leaf. Or maybe you have seen your own wondrous design that will fit my flowers well? Any suggestions?
Happy gardening!

The bit of green sounds wonderful...but maybe there are others out there who know better!!

Wonderful little flowers. I like the layout and a little bit of the right green would be perfect :)
Actually you know! I think the suggestion of adding a bit of green is not a bad one!!! I think it would look great Heather!!!
An excellent layout design, wish I thought of that myself! :)
Your hexies are so tiny and the fabric is so cute! I can't wait to see the finished product.
I'm sure whatever you decide will be just beautiful! Very pretty flowers!
It has been fun seeing everyone's flowers. Your light blue ones are so vintage...a Nile green would be pretty...but so would a light/white.
Or even go completely different and try light yellow?

I've seen several photos of quilts with the layout you're trying--a single green hexagon in the spaces. It's a sweet layout for small quilts or large ones.
Try your layout on top of a big piece of fabric -- and you'll get a great idea what it would look like --on dark green, on lighter green, maybe on navy, anything you like.
The one small quilt I remember was darker Civil War hexagons and the single spaces were filled with black. Striking! but too much for your little 1930s. I'll be watching to see what you choose.
Wow: what a great flowers! I love the blues and they are great fabrics. I think the green would look wonderful. But so would a light pink one, I think. No doubt what you decide will look wonderful!
Really nice blues you have going on there with your tiny hexies! How about breaking with tradition and trying a nice light orange between them? Might really pop.
