June 23 Already?

Wow!  I can't believe that my last post was the 15th of June!  Thank you all for being patient with me and for the kind emails wondering if I am OK.  The short - yes, mostly OK.  The long - you don't want to know!  Although things have been going somewhat better with my new diet change due to allergies, I still have other health concerns that required a visit to a doctor of internal medicine (a specialist).  That was yesterday, so, in the meantime, now I wait again, and get a zillion more tests done - again.

So, on a brighter note, what has been keeping me happy and busy?  Well, the sunny weather has finally arrived and we have been able to spend time outside enjoying the warm breezes at the same time as not enjoying the influx of bird-sized mosquitoes!  The mosquito crop is sure a fine one this year!  The air is thick with them!  Both Little Miss and I have acquired our fair share of bites over the past week while we were out geocaching.  Do you know of this fun outdoor activity?

Little Miss loves it and considers it a giant treasure hunt - which it actually is!  To find out all the specifics and see if there are any caches in your area you can visit the hub of all things geocaching at www.geocaching.com.  For the short explanation: geocaching is a global, high-tech treasure hunt using your GPS and your sense of outdoor fun.  Anyone can hide a cache (which is generally a small box with a notebook, pencil, and treasures -called swag), and then others seek it using the cache's coordinates found on the geocaching website.  The website where the picture above is from is also a great spot to find out more - lots of great explanations and more pictures.

I haven't had much of a chance to get into my quilting room, so there isn't a lot to report in that department.  I go in the room and look at everything now and then, just to dream a bit and pick up a quilting book to keep myself inspired during this dry period.  There seems to be so much else to do when "summer" finally arrives.  Canada Post is still on strike, so at least the in-coming and out-going mail management has been scratched off the to-do list!

I guess I had better get outside now and fiddle with things in the garden.  I am looking out the window just now and noticed that all the leaves on my giant Icelandic poppy are turning yellow - what's up with that!?

Hopefully it is sunny today where you are and you too can enjoy some natural vitamin D!

Just a reminder that the 90 day thingy has just passed (22 June)!! But from your post, your weather has had a change of heart and decided to play nice!!!! So I guess all is well in that department!!!
Glad to hear you are slowly adjusting to your new diet needs, so I hope that your other health issues will pan out alright for you too Heather!
You probably won't feel the the full benefits for a few months yet!! Take care, and enjoy your garden time!!!

Your conversational prints are beautiful. They're not that easy to find, especially at my preferred price of "on sale." But most that I've bought are still intact. I just can't bring myself to cut into them. It must be some phobia I have --the inability to cut fabrics that I love to look at.

Is the end of the postal strike in sight? I can't imagine not being able to rely on the mail arriving every day.

I hope your health concerns resolve smoothly and soon. Summer is not the time to be feeling anything less than energetic and healthy.

My son and his girlfriend are into geocaching and really enjoy it too...perhaps it is their inner child! Hope you are feeling healthy and happy soon.
