Quilt Studio Update...

I recently did a purge and overhaul of my quilting room (for that post, click here), but even though it really is something to behold - if I do say so myself - it was still missing something.  Well, today I figured out what it was and promptly fixed it!  Can you spot the different in the two photos below?

Aside from the angle of the photo and the mess being different, it's not a very difficult question; I am fairly certain the answer is quite obvious!  That gorgeous quilt of course!  It is "Rain Drops", a pattern by Judy Niemeyer.  I had the opportunity to take a workshop/retreat with her last spring.  The drive to her place is about 5.5hrs south of here in near Kalispsell, Montana.  A friend of mine and I enjoyed the retreat together and had a blast with Judy and the other participants.

Near the end of the retreat Judy announced that she would be selling several of her shop-demo quilts.  of course we all jumped on that bandwagon!  This is the quilt I purchased.  I think the label indicates it was made by Judy in 2003.  I love it and although it is not generally my style, for whatever reason it just draws me right in.  I think it adds some great colour and inspiration to my room and makes good use of an otherwise blank wall.

Hopefully you find some inspiration today too!

Thanks for my laugh of the day, Heather.

I love that quilt. I've never done a New York Beauty quilt, but would like to try, someday. Yours is stunning.
