The 1930's were such a unique time in our history and many of us textile-a-holics appreciate the fabrics and decor from that era. I know I certainly enjoy the reproduction fabrics available to us today, both from the 1800's and the 1930's. So, when a friend of mine sent me a text asking if I was still interested in 1930's fabrics because she knew of a lady selling her "stash", I nearly jumped for joy!
I contacted Patti and arranged to meet her at her house so I could browse her container of fabrics and see if there were any I might like to take along with me... Well, silly me! Of course I found some I liked! In fact, I found the equivalent of 18.5 yards worth!
Just for fun, I piled the whole lot of them into one huge tower just to get the full effect of my new find. I haven't decided what on earth which pattern I will be putting this new pile of pretties into, but my mind is sure wandering, and I'm sure I will come up with something soon!
And, after I had gone through the bin and chosen my preferences, there was still half the bin left behind! Patti has asked me to mention that if you too are a 1930's fan in the Calgary area, you are welcome to shop at her place too! Contact me for her information.
AND, not only that, but she offered some of her fat quarters to have a giveaway! I will post the giveaway at the beginning of June. I will be away visiting family and friends during the middle of May for a wedding I am in (no worries, I'll still be able to post), so I'll host the giveaway when I return. Check back then and enter for your chance to win!
Thanks Patti! Happy quilting!

Oh Heather! I'm so happy for you to have found such a treasure that makes your heart sing! While these fabrics wouldn't have been to MY personal taste, I'm thrilled for you to have gotten them. Truly. It's surely as happy a meeting for the seller as it is for you. I'll be following along to see how you use them. Enjoy, enjoy!
I just love 1930's fabric so I'm excited for your recent opportunity to get more!! I have leftover's from my Grandmother's Flower Garden that will be used in a Dresden Plates just as soon as I get a chance.
Thanks for sharing and reminding me about mine!!
Lucky you! What a wonderful find. Enjoy looking through your quilt books for the perfect pattern.
