Tupperware Is The Bomb!

Doesn't everyone have one of those cupboards or drawers chock-a-blocka full of Tupper-like containers (or maybe even the real Tupperthing!)?  I know our kitchen has a special Tupper-hide-away that we pretty much open the door to at our own risk for fear of a Tupper-explosion.  In my quilting and stitching world, Tupperware (yes, the brandname), has a much higher rank than my Tupper-crazed kitchen cupboard!

Recently I tried to purchase my favourite shaped Tupperware container, square or rectangle, and to my dismay, it had been discontinued.  What!?  NO!  Thankfully my Tupperlady lead me in the right direction with a new product that is very similar, but, even better - if that's even possible!

I use the Tupperware brand because of the quality and the replacement guarantee.  I have several different containers for different type of tools.  Usually the tools are quilting or stitching related, but I'm sure I will branch out eventually - maybe even put food in them!  I know that I can grab my applique box, throw it in my "Mom bag" (You know that type of bag, right?  The one that is so massive you have one of everything in it, can't find a darn thing in it, and then as a result end up with two of everything in it.)  ... and it won't pop open, get squashed, bumped beyond recognition, crack, or otherwise spill it's contents or get damaged.  And if it does, it's the Tupperguarantee, I get a new one!

My most used Tuppercontainer is for applique.  It contains just about every tool needed for needle-turn hand applique. Thread scissors, fabric and everything scissors, an 01 Micron pen in black, my tiny needle book containing every sort of pin, needle, and even a rubber finger, extra needles, YLI Silk #100 in 2 shades of neutral (a light and a med/dark), Presentia cotton thread in a neutral colour as well as a crazy bright (for back basting), and, last but by far not least, a Clover needle threader.  That's right!  All that stuff crammed into a Tupper-tool container.

The reason for my order, if you can't already tell, was to find another Tuppercontainer, the same, but slightly bigger.  And voila!  Looky here!  Not only did I find one that was bigger, but that ONE came in a set of three!  All nesting, all matching, all Tupper-tastic!  The red one is my original, and the three lovelies on the right are the new ones.

So, I have adopted the largest (dark green) as my new applique container, the next size down (light green) as my One Flower Wednesday hexagon container, and now have my original red one and the small yellow one yet to fill!

Next time you're invited to a Tupperparty or have a friend somewhere who sells it (if you don't have a Tupperlady, please click here to order from mine), don't knock the greater expense than the grocery store Zip-product, suck it up and order some!  And, just to prove how wonderful I think Tupperware actually is, I will be giving away a tiny Tupper-applique starter kit (pictured above) in the Fall Into Fall Giveaway.  Come back to my blog after September 30th to have your chance to win!

Happy Tupper-shopping!

I recently order a set(2) of Tupperware sandwich keepers to use for handwork tools and such. You have some awesome ideas - thank you for sharing.

I have equal Tupperware in my kitchen and sewing rooms, some dating back 30 years, and I love it all.

Oh yeah! I"m a tupperware junky! I like to keep buttons in mine, well and tools, and kits, etc. I even graduated to bigger bins now (although not tupperware brand) for a container per project!
