It's now day three of the overhaul project and I'm moving along nicely (if I do say so myself). A couple of annonymous helpers have stopped by (real ones, not four-legged furry ones as before) to give me a hand here and there a a few pointers.
I was going to post pics to show everything as I go, but have since decided that It would be more fun to post a few teasers and give you all a big reveal like Mr. Confessions gets. So, with that said, here are a few update photos with some progress here and there.
I got everything cleaned out and put aside. The bed has plastic, the carpet has plastic, and the dresser is being dis-assembled in order to deal with it properly.
The room has been taped and the cutting started. It's a crazy job (cutting) and I had a friend come and help because I have an issue with standing at the top of a ladder and leaning to paint the wall. Not heights, just the top of the ladder... I get wiggley knees, tingley toes, sweaty palms, and a general not so great feeling. Generally all bad things to experience at the top of a ladder!
And what is this fine pile of crafty articles for? I had to dig a bit in Little Miss's activities bin to find them.
I was in need of a small paintbrush to dab on a crackle substance (part of an antiquing finish). I couldn't find one for the life of me, so I had to make do! A pom-pom, a popcicle stick, and some tape! It was super for the most part, but then I really did need an actual paintbrush. I finally found one in my quilting supplies (of all places). I use it for the starch and template method of needle-turn applique. Handy thing to have!
I have one coat of paint left and am looking forward to being able to sleep in my bed again. Last night I slept on my daughter's floor and tonight it's the living room couch. At least it's not because I'm in the doghouse - not yet anyway, we'll see come Sunday when Mr. Confessions arrives home!
Come back soon!
