Or rather - A Bee, See!

Yesterday Mr. Confessions, MissV, and I travelled to our property with another couple to spend the day together.  The guys had a great time (though hard) taking apart the structures there that need to be moved in order to start digging the foundation for a cabin.

The three gals went to find some of the local geocaches (a global treasure hunt game using a GPS unit to find "treasure boxes" called caches that others have hidden.  After a driving tour of the local countryside we headed back to have some lunch and "supervise" the demolition.

That's when it struck me!  No, not some revelation from above.  No, not some epiphany about the latest and greatest combo of quilting fabrics.  No, not a light bulb moment regarding something long forgotten...  A wasp!  Or maybe a hornet.  Either way, it was big, black, and on a rampage!  And boy did it hurt!  Thankfully I'm not allergic (though my Mom is), but I took Benadryl immediately and danced around in pain for the next few minutes.

We finished off the day with a semi-completion of the wreckage list and headed home.  The next morning (that would be this morning), I was hoping to find a nice pale and pasty skin colour on my arm (just about the only time anyone wants to be pale and pasty)...  But it was not so.  There, in a stage of raging mad itchiness, was an awful looking red welt, and not a small one either!

Down with more Benadryl.  Oh how I love outdoor activities.  As I have said to a couple of friends in the past, "I think I'm allergic to nature".  At least I am not deathly allergic!  From an earlier post we discovered what might have been poison ivy, thank goodness it's not.  However, what's worse, rampaging bees or poisonous plants?  Obviously with all the anti-histamine I've been taking I'm slightly drowsy today.  Here's to an afternoon nap!

Oh my gosh, I am itchy just looking at it, where is the 'dryl' I think I need a double dose. I am liking that tree fort. Green is a good colour .

You poor thing! That sting looks dreadful. Don't we all think that when we grow up we'll be past all those child-like, outdoor adventures? How does it feel to be a kid again?!
