Mail is alwasy wonderful to receive! It's even more fun when it's not bills or junk! This past week I got a special gift from a friend/blog-buddy... A lovely Christmas quilt!
The crazy thing is, only days before it arrived, I was chatting with a fellow quilter and reproduction fabric lover about this particular line of fabric from last year's holiday season. I decided that I needed to make a Christmas quilt from the pieces I owned and see how far I could get on it this year before the holidays are over.
And look how I have been blessed! I got a quilt in the fabric I was thinking of, I didn't have to make it (so I can spend time on another project), it's a gorgeous gift, AND it is just in time for Christmas! It fits perfectly on our "coffee table" which is really an old antique trunk. Doesn't the Christmas centerpiece look great with it?
The centerpiece is an old oval shaped tin tray, some greenery, a few pip-berry sprigs with rusty bells, and an old metal zester to house a tealight. I love it! I found tiny battery operated Christmas lights to lay around the greenery, but haven't got that far yet.
Happy quilting and have fun decorating! I know I certainly am!

A great gift, and a festive display you made using it! I love the antique grater with the votive in it.
Beautiful gift! Aren't you the very lucky recipient!!
That table runner is a great gift, Heather. And you're right! It looks perfect on your trunk with the zester and greenery. I know you'll enjoy it in the weeks ahead. Happy Advent season.
