From Arizona With Love

In recent weeks I have been rather down on Canada Post.  It seems that their delivery is just not making the cut.  Damaged packaging, pay for fast and it goes slow (with no refund), regular mail is taking ages longer than it used to, everyone else I know is getting the same parcel that I'm supposed to get WAY sooner - even all the way to France!  However, today there was some redemption...  Finally - MAIL!

Recently I met a fellow blogger and fast became her snail mail pal with a quick little gifty of some fabrics she needed.  She was using up some Jo Morton scraps to make a hexagon quilt...  Yes, a quick way to my heart, hexagons and Jo Morton fabric!  And look what I get in reply!

That's right!  You're not seeing things!  That's Jo Morton's new book "Coming Home" purchased especially for me from her LQS!

I don't think I have seen this book available in Canada yet!  Woohoo for me!  I couldn't wait to open it and browse through all the new creations Jo has for us this time.

I think this particular one is going to be a fast favourite!  There are many others that I need to read more about including a shoo-fly, one with stars (of course I'd pick that one!), and a very interesting applique.

And, as if this delightful book wasn't enough - she took the time to make me this fabulous little stitching caddy.  I don't think I've seen anything like it before, and look at the fabric!!  That's right, she used her Jo scraps from other projects on something for ME instead of in her hexagons!  I'm thrilled.  I can't stop touching it, inspecting it, and wondering what I will be working on first when I get to use it!  If your mind strayed to "probably hexagons", you're likely right (that or applique)!

It folds up in a convenient way, and can rest over the arm of the couch, my leg, or the arm of a nearby chair.  Seriously amazing and useful gift!

There was also a cute little collar for our family's furry friend Chloe.  I think it might even be home made!  Ms. T sure is talented!

You can visit her blog and check out all the other wonderful things she is working on right now including some Kathleen Tracy doll quilts, needle keepers, and a great trick to making spools and bowties the easy way with no inset Y seams!

Thank you Ms. T!  I'm blown away and love, love, love everything!

(Don't forget my give-away is still open until June 30th in the post below!)
