Where Have I Been?

I'll admit it, my blog has been on the back burner for several says (dare I say weeks) now.  It has been quite a crazy hiatus and I am thankfully back to blogland catching up on reading as well as posting.

The insanity all started on Tuesday the 16th when I got a phone call from "Private Number".  Don't you just love those ones?  Caller ID is definitely fabulous, but not so great when it still doesn't tell you who is calling.  With reservations, I answered.  I was surprised to hear the voice of Mr. Confessions on the other end of the line.  "Where are you calling from?  Where is your phone?" I asked with confusion.  My anxiety was quickly skyrocketed when he answered, "From the back of a cop car."  AAAACCCKK!!!

The good news is, Mr. Confessions is 100% fine.  The bad news is, he rolled his truck and it is now at the scrap metal yard completely totalled.  That particular Tuesday was one of treachery on the roads all over our area having had rain and then snow, and, if that's not bad enough, high winds and seriously freezing conditions.  Mr. Confessions was exiting from one highway to get onto another highway.  As if the ramp being sheer ice wasn't bad enough, it was also backlogged with 30+ vehicles due to an accident further ahead.  So, what's a driver to do?  He aimed for the ditch and hoped for the best.

Everything happened in right in front of two police officers who were already attending the other accident.  We are all still shocked that he is fine - no whiplash, no concussion, no cuts or scrapes from broken glass, no muscle injuries, nothing.  He broke his window and walked away.  Thank you Lord!  The pic above is his truck the next day at the city impound lot.  The big pipe sticking out the back is his drive shaft - yes, that's right, the thing that runs under your vehicle to make the front and back tires work in unison - the tow truck driver picked it up for us, how nice.

So now, with things slowing down from all the repercussions involved (as well as company for a weekend inbetween), I can get back to normal life (whatever that is), and all you patient folks out there waiting for me to get with it and make another post!

Thanks for waiting!
Heather
