Love, Love, Love

Love is in the air.  I'm just about finished my Valentine challenge quilt (see previous post) and am looking forward to a nice family dinner tonight for Valentine's Day.  Our tradition has been to make a roast of some kind, with the normal fixings, and enjoy a family meal together with candles and at least one red romantic item to adorn the table.

Many spend the day trying to make reservations, finding the perfect gift for a loved one, eating too much chocolate (if that is even possible), or bruding because they feel they have no one to celebrate the day with.  For us, it's about love, period.  Love for each other, friends, family, and appreciation for the things we have that have been given in love.  It's a much more rounded view of the day, but it doesn't exclude, or make anyone feel depressed with loneliness, for us anyone is someone with whom we can celebtrate the action of love.

I hope that you too will find a special someone to dote on today, but remember also that if every action we expressed every day was performed in love, there would be much less strife, stress, and rebellion around us.

I think I may even find a lovey-dovey movie to watch this evening with Mr. Confessions after Little Miss has gone to bed.  Any suggestions?  I know we have Love Actually and The Holiday (which, although it takes place at Christmas, is still all about love), what are your favourites?

So come on!  Love a little!

We will also celebrate this day of love at home just enjoying each other's company. The movie Ghost is very much about love (with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore)

Ohhh, yes, Ghost is a good one. We did a Valentine's dinner out one time. Over priced and crowded! Never again.

You must be married to a guy with a "soft side." Mine would never sit through a lovey-dovey movie. But I would highly recommend "Emma." It's a quintessential British romance.
