A Little of This, A Little of That

First off, I wanted to thank all of you who have joined us so far over at Finish-It-First!  It's been a rough week for me, but I managed to get all the registered participants (so far) listed in the sidebar there.  I'm excited to see who else will join us!  C'mon y'all!!

Next, the Jo Morton Giveaway is still open, so if you haven't entered yet, make sure you do!

Jo Morton and I at the class I took from her in 2008.
The past four days have been pretty brutal for me.  It took me a while to decide if I was going to post anything about it or not.  I like to try and keep things positive here and be a light in your day since everything else around us is so negative and insane.  Who actually enjoys watching the news anymore?  It's a little difficult to explain what's been going on since bodily everything seems to hurt, ache, feel strange, or unusual.  In general, every day it feels like tomorrow I'm going to have the flu.  Unfortunately, even though it is believed I have Lupus, I can't get in to see a specialist until late summer/early fall for an official on-my-medical-record diagnosis.

Many geocaches in the city are often very small in order to keep them hidden well.

We have been enjoying fabulous weather here.  I haven't seen it this good in Alberta in the 12 years I have lived here, and the folks who are born and raised here say the same - but for their lifetime!  Saturday it was +15°C and just about anyone who could be was outside enjoying the day, was!  Little Miss and I went out with our good friend traipsing around the city geocaching.

There is a small hole in this heavy metal anchor where the geocache we were looking for is hidden.
Yes, that little black bump is the geocache!  It is one of the smallest ones we have found!  Normally they are the size of a sandwich sized Tupperware container or small snack container.

We found eight out of ten attempts and had a great day in the sunshine (even though I paid for it dearly).  New to geocaching?  Make sure you check the home of geocaching on the Web for a quick 2-minute video.  I have a Garmin Dakota 20 GPS and love it!  I highly recommend this one if you're interested in geocaching - very family friendly and a great way to spend the day outside!

I haven't had the energy to get to the quilting room this week, so I have been working on crochet during my waking moments on the couch.  I guess I have been working under a quilt as opposed to working on  a quilt!  This is the pattern I bought on Etsy (mentioned in the previous post) and I must say I am really enjoying hooking it up!  The yarn is light, airy, soft, and quick to form into the lace fabric.

I'm off to to lay still...  Not sure what else there is to do when even your skin feels tired!  Have a fabulous day!

Heather

I've never heard of geocaching before! I don't know if they have it here in Australia. I hope you're feeling better soon. Take care Heather. Hugs, Christine

I'm so sorry to hear that you are suffering from lupus. I couldn't imagine why it would take so long to see a doctor until I saw you are in Alberta. I hope you don't feel this way the entire time between now and then! I have a lot of friends who geocach, and they love it so much. I've watched them go over, under, around and through things I can't begin to want to travel. LOL

I hope you soon feel well enough to get back to the things you love. I don't follow because I never remember to go check the page. If you ha the follow by e-mail gadget on the sidebar, I'd do that, though, so I'd never miss anything!

I pray when you do see the doctor that he has a good report!
