While in Kalispell, if you are a knitter, fiber lover, crochet-er, or any other sort of yarn-a-holic you must visit Camas Creek Yarns in the historic section of Main Street there.
Your experience begins when you pull up infront of the shop to park on the street there. The sign, a regular street sign, has been re-worked in fine knitter's fashion and the storefront is the prettiest one on the block - if not the entire main highway - with huge pots of flowers, gorgeous high windows, and an old fashioned shop sign to make sure you know you really are in the right spot!.
Upon entering, if you are not instantly flabbergasted by the eye-candy in every direction, then you'd better take your sun glasses off and come in again. My Mom and I can't wait to pay homage to this fine, fine shop whenever we plan our Kalispell outing. There is something for everyone and in every price range. There is nothing like a fabulously laid out, colourful, warm, and welcoming shop to entice you into it's creative atmosphere!
We got up to lots of trouble! But what else would a person do in such a lovely place?! Not only is their stock endless, so is their service. The staff are always friendly and the owner(s) are usually around with big smiles ready to give you a hand if you need it. They have decorated the establishment in high style with rustic brick walls, a tin-tile ceiling, enormous stained-glass lamps right out of another world, and wood floors with planks that lead you right in to delight in whatever you can find.
I got some lovely yarns to make a heavy wrap for winters around here and some new needles. My Mom got enough yarn to make a small top and some new needles as well. However, aside from knitty business I also was able to come away with a very fine Turkish rug (photo later). They were brought over by the shop owners (legally and authentically) and I got the last small one they had! It was good that we were able to keep things under control and finish up with just one visit... The shop was only three blocks down the street from our hotel!
More on the rest of our trip later!

I didn't get a chance to pop in there on my last trip to Montana, but am looking forward to it on this trip!! It is an awesome shop :)
Wow - looks like a fantastic little shop!!!
Though I only knit scarves at this point I can totally understand your delight visiting this shop.
Now that's a store with dedication to marketing itself in the finest way possible. Love the fiber treatment on the street sign, and the curved windows look so interesting. Those windows alone would draw me in.
It definitely looks like a store that's a treat to visit.
Oh my!! what a fabulous shop, just the kind I love LOL!!!! Thankyou for sharing your visit, can't wait to see your new rug!!!
Oh what a great trip and great people you met and shops. Everything. I really enjoyed catching up with you tonight!
