Finally - Quilt Show Pictures

I confess, as summer is coming to a close, I am finding it more and more difficult to get on here and keep up with posting.  I know that once September arrives and the calendar has changed to Fall, things will settle in and I'll have more time to spend keeping in touch with you all.

With that being said, I am finally able to show you some of the fabulous quilts from my trip to Montana earlier in the month.  I am going to set it up similarly to the Stampede Parade photos so you can have your own little walk through the park with your cup of tea and the quilts.  The majority of the festivities are in the Historic Village in the town of Eureka.  You can click on any image to enlarge it for a better view.  So, without further ado, here they are!  A gallery of quilts...

This was all applique and amazing!  It was hanging from the roofline, so it was difficult to get an accurate picture.  You can click on it for a better view.

You may need to click on the image for a better idea of the insanity of this piece.  The quilt is fabulous and the stitching makes it absolutely pop!

This was a beautiful quilt from afar (above), and up close it was even more lovely.  Each design is intricately machine embroidered and adds some fabulous colour and creativity to the gentle colours of the main fabrics.

This is the quilt that is being raffled off for the Flathead Valley Quilter's Guild quilted by Vicki Ibison.  You can read about her in my other post.

I have seen the pattern before, but done only in taupes and creams.  This version really caught my eye!  Of course I have a soft spot for the New York Beauty block, so that definitely helps!

Yes, you read that correctly!  As you walk up the street enjoying the charm of the town along with the quilts, you can pay $1/minute to have a massage and then carry one your way.

When you pass the moose sign, there is a garden wall, a stone pathway, and a delightfully peaceful al fresco treatment center!  Birds chirping, a breeze in the leaves, fresh air...  My $10 was well spent!

After the quilt show we headed to the USA/Canada border to start our journey home.  This was the view over the Montana landscape a few miles south of the crossing.  Look at that sky!
We had so much fun!  Is it next year yet?  The Montana sky is calling to me...  OK, so not really, the shopping is calling me - but don't tell Mr. Confessions!
Enjoy!
Heather

I love the NY Beauty blocks set with the cats - I've seen it set on black and really striking.

Heather you are starting to scare me in a good way. We live near each other (we farm in Carbon). We attend a lot of the same events. I too, was in Eureka for the quilt show this year. I even got a signed book from Eleanor Burns. It was a wonderful show. I will go again next year.

Quilt shows via photos on a blog are the next best thing to being there. Thanks for sharing all these lovelies with us.
There's nothing like the blue of a Montana sky in the summer -- it's a real "big sky."

Wow, such beautiful quilts, especially the Dresden! And what a fun trip it must have been. Reminds me of the quilt show in Sisters Oregon I visited a few years ago and makes me want to go again. Fun times!
