Life On Hold

Alright, alright!  I've heard your pleas, concerns, and gentle nudges.  I am actually still here - barely.  The holidays always lend themselves to being busy in general, but for some reason this season took the fruitcake.  It's almost as if someone pressed the hold button on my mind while my body whirred about the past few weeks darting like a hummingbird hither and thither.  Then, POP, the bubble burst, no hold button anymore, I can't remember what on earth has happened over the past 3-ish weeks, but I'm really tired!

I finally got the majority of my Christmas decor arranged, but I must admit, there is still a large amount still packed away in a box.

My favourite part of decorating is setting up my Christmas village.  My hubby and I (though he will not willingly admit it) like the Department 56 Dickens Village collectors houses.

It's always a bit of a chore to get all the boxes out and organize what goes where.  Then of course there's the firguring of the electrical components so we don't have a fire hazard near our (now dried out) real Christmas tree.  But in the end, it's always lovely.

I sort of feel as though I would like to be a part of my little holiday village when the Christmas season arrives.  It's so peaceful, quaint, and fresh looking.  It seem like it was just a couple of days ago that I made my last post here, when it turns out it was half a month ago!  ACK!  No wonder so many of you were contacting me on the side asking where I had gotten to!  Thank you for keeping me accountable!  Sadly, I was not lost in some romatic European village of yor, just here, still dealing with the hither and thither.

One of the biggest events of our holidays I am happy to be able to share with you - I'm pregnant!  So, as if the Christmas Crazies aren't enough to make a person exhausted, growing a baby on the side definitely is!  Thankfully Mr. Confession is an excellent chef and stepped up to the plate to make us a delicious Christmas ham (no turkey in our house, Mr. Confessions is deathly allergic to any bird meat), golden baked potatoes, veggies, and all the yumminess that goes a long with eating too much of a good thing!

I think I might just sleep until February.  Well, sleep and throw up.  I could do without the latter, but it comes with the territory.  Thank you to all who are regulars here, and thank you to those of you who gave me a nudge to encourage me back to blogland when I wish I was sleeping.

I hope all of you had the merriest of Christmases and the best of New Years' parties.  I am excited to see what 2011 brings and am considering even making a "to-do" list of quilting and knitting projects that really should have been dones ages ago.
