Keeping Fingers Busy

I have had to keep still and rest for several days now and am about to go crazy with cabin fever.  Aside from doctors appointments and other medical exams I have been keeping very low-key.  I can't take it any more!  I keep looking at a bag of yarn from our trip to California and I am dying to get into it!

Starbucks on the left, Ewe n' Me knit shop on the right.

On this recent vacation my darling Mr. Confessions was kind enough to point out a knitting shop that I had know idea was even there.  It was first thing in the morning and we were on our way to the golf course.  Mr. Confessions was desperate for a coffee and thus, we made a point of going to Starbucks.  Surprisingly, I didn't want anything (yes, shocking I know), and so I waited with Little Miss in the car.  Upon his return, Mr. Confessions relayed his exciting news of fiber and yarn fun and said I should come back while he was at the golf course (I can't hit the broad side of a barn, never mind a small ball with a skinny stick!).

It turns out the shop was having their grand opening weekend and there was a gorgeous spread of food, drinks, and yummy treats.  Pam, the owner, was a darling and actually stayed open a little longer so I could shop.  There ended up being a mishap with who had the car keys and I had to wait until late afternoon to make my way to the shop and just made it in time to make a few laps of the store, take pictures, and fondle some delicious yarns.

Now, how can life get much better than a favourite hobby having a shop right beside Starbucks?  Mmmm, mmmm, mmm...  Let me tell you, did I have a great time!  The store was bright and spacious, lively and full of colour.  There were knitted inspirations everywhere, and if that wasn't enough, there were books, pictures, people, and more to inspire and delight.

There was a lot of selection and a superb little sit n' sip area for relaxing with your current fiber project or maybe starting something new.  If you happen to be in the Palm Springs area, be sure to stop in the city of La Quinta and say hello, I'm sure Pam will be happy to let you fondle fibers and visit her darling mannequin sheep (they even all have names)!  You can also find a great article about the shop here.  Happy knitting!
